Answers about Company and Personal modes, signing in, location, breaks, leave and CSV exports. If something here does not cover your case, write to app@digital-pages.dev.
Choose your mode
Choose Digital Pages for Company mode if your employer uses Digital Pages payroll and has invited you. Choose Other / Personal for your own time record without an account, email code or internet connection. The choice appears when you first open the app.
Personal mode makes no API or network requests. Attendance, break reasons and timing, GPS stamps, notes and leave records are encrypted on your device. There is no employer dashboard, cloud sync or online backup for these records. A fresh location is preferred, with a labelled latest-known fallback when needed. Optional biometric locking still applies.
No. They are personal records with a Recorded or Cancelled status. Recording or cancelling them does not send a request to management and is not evidence of leave approval.
Export attendance, breaks or leave as CSV and choose a local file destination in Android’s file picker. The export includes GPS details and notes and preserves Arabic text. CSV files are outside the app’s encrypted storage: keep them somewhere you control and choose carefully whom to share them with. Clearing app storage does not remove those exported files.
No. Personal mode has no online backup. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes its records. If Android cannot use the encryption key, the app reports a storage error and does not silently erase the existing records. We cannot recover the encryption key or restore the data from our servers.
Company access and sign-in
For Company mode, your company grants it. An administrator opens the payroll application, finds you in the employee list and grants your work email mobile access, which sends you an invitation containing the download link. Installing the app on your own does not create an account, and we cannot grant access on your behalf — ask the person who handles payroll or HR at your company.
Check three things. First, that you typed the exact address your company invited — an uninvited address will not work. Second, your spam or junk folder. Third, the time: a new code can only be sent once a minute, and up to five times an hour, so a burst of requests will be quietly ignored.
For privacy reasons the app shows the same message whether or not an address is registered, so an unchanged screen does not confirm that you were invited. If nothing arrives, ask your administrator to resend the invitation.
Ten minutes and five attempts. After that, request a new code.
Not yet. Version 1.4.0 is an Android app for phones and tablets. An iOS build is planned; this page will be updated when it is released.
Company actions require the official app
Use Dawamee 1.4.0 or later on a supported Google-certified Android device with its original, locked operating system. The service verifies the app’s hardware-backed key and a signature for each attendance or leave action. Copied access tokens alone cannot submit actions. Software-only emulators and devices that cannot pass verification cannot submit Company actions; Personal mode remains local and does not require this verification.
Location
Each action carries a location stamp. The app asks for precise permission and first seeks a fresh fix within 250 metres. If that fails while GPS is enabled, it uses the latest known usable location, including an older or less accurate fix. Its original time, accuracy and LAST_KNOWN label are retained so it is not presented as your current position. With a usable previous fix, the app allows up to half a second for a fresh fix before using the fallback. Without one, it waits up to twelve seconds for a fresh fix; network and app verification may add time.
No. It attaches one location stamp when you check in or out, start or end a break, or submit or cancel a leave request. It has no background location permission, so when the app is closed or in the background it records nothing at all. In Company mode, your employer sees each action’s location stamp. In Personal mode, that stamp stays on your device unless you export it.
Check that GPS and precise-location permission are enabled. A fresh-fix failure alone does not block an action when a usable previous location exists. If there is no real current or previous fix, move near a window or outdoors and retry. Mock locations are refused. Company mode also needs internet access, active company access and a verified official app installation.
The app will tell you which of these applies and offer to open Android settings where that is the fix.
Precise location must be enabled in both modes because a location stamp is part of each recorded action. Company mode sends it to your employer’s service; Personal mode saves it only on your device and includes it in CSV files you choose to export. For an alternative to Company location recording, speak to your employer.
Your working day
Lunch, phone call, coffee, personal, prayer, going to market, and other. A note is optional for most reasons, but choosing “other” requires an explanation. Start time, end time and duration are recorded for every break.
Because these actions become a record. Check-in, check-out, starting and ending a break, sending and cancelling a leave request, signing out and switching off the biometric lock all ask first, and you can cancel or press Back to dismiss the question without anything being recorded.
The fresh fix is requested after confirmation. If it fails while GPS stays enabled, the latest known usable fix is saved with its original time and accuracy and an explicit fallback label.
The app does not provide an attendance editor. In Company mode, tell your payroll or HR administrator so they can review the entry and handle your correction request. Personal mode has no employer review workflow; it records the actions you take locally.
In Company mode, choose the type — annual, sick, unpaid, hourly or another type — add the dates (and times for hourly leave) and a reason, then send it. Your company reviews it in the payroll application. You can follow the status in the app and cancel a request while it is still pending; once it has been reviewed, cancelling is your administrator's decision.
Yes, if each company invited the same email address. After signing in you choose which company you are recording time for.
Security and settings
In Company mode, seven days per sign-in. After that you request a new code. Personal mode has no sign-in session or one-time code. Signing out ends the session immediately, on the device and on the server.
It hides the app behind your device's fingerprint or face unlock. You can lock after 1, 5 or 15 minutes of inactivity, when the app goes to the background, after a restart, or immediately on demand. Turning the setting on or off also requires a biometric check, so someone holding your unlocked phone cannot simply disable it. Your fingerprint or face data never reaches the app or our servers — Android performs the check and the app only learns whether it succeeded.
Yes to both. The app is fully bilingual with a right-to-left layout in Arabic, and Settings offers a light or dark appearance. Fonts and icons are bundled inside the app, so switching language does not depend on a remote font service.
Access stops. Ending employment, revoking the grant, moving to trainee status or changing the login email invalidates it immediately, and eligibility is re-checked on every request, so an open session stops working too. Being rehired does not restore the old access; a new invitation is needed. Your past attendance stays in your employer's records.
Personal records are removed by clearing app storage in Android settings or uninstalling. Previously exported CSV files remain and must be managed separately. For Company data, verify your email and confirm on the deletion page to close access and sign out all devices. Attendance and leave records enter an employer deletion/retention review. See Delete my data.
For Company attendance, leave or access, contact your payroll or HR administrator; they can review records and handle correction requests. For problems with the app itself, write to app@digital-pages.dev. The support page explains what to include.
